PGC1 Pyromorphite,

Daoping-Yangshuo Orebody, Guilin area, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Central South Region, China

6.5x 3.5x 3.3 cm

$625

A spectacular cabinet pyromorphite from the finds of early 2000.  This specimen has the much sought after bright grass-green color that is almost impossible to find in the specimens currently on the market, which usually have a much flatter, darker green.  The crystals on this specimen reach 1 cm.  This mine is now closed, and the prices of these specimens, especially the ones with the best color, will only rise as they become classics.

GPY1 Pyromorphite,

Ptschelojad Mine, Kordzali, Bulgaria

5.5x 3.3x 2.0 cm

$275

Here is a very good specimen form the find of the early 1990's.  Today, these Bulgarian pyros are almost nonexistent on the market.  When they do pop up, specimens usually have only one or two pyro crystals, but this one has at least 17.  Those with multiple crystals can usually not be found for under $500--when they are found at all.

BEN2 Benitoite
Gem Mine, San Benito Co., California

2.9x 2.4x 2.3 cm

$335

A cluster of multiply terminated benitoites on the typical natrolite/ blue schist matrix, with no damage.  It is unusual to find benitoite clustered like this.   As you all know, the mine recently closed, and most of what is now available are just the leftovers.  This piece is from my personal collection.

UCCR3 Rhodochrosite

Uchucchacua Mine, Oyon Province, Lima Dept., Peru.

6.1x 3.9x 3.8 cm

$225

A very rich specimen, with numerous pink rhodos to .9 cm.  A couple of the smaller crystals on the edge are cleaved, but all of the larger ones are all intact. Overall a superb example of an Uchucchacua rhodochrosite.

10.0x 7.4x 3.7 cm

$125

A beautiful cabinet specimen with a complex, 3.1 cm, light blue-green fluorite perched aesthetically on the edge of a matrix consisting of greenish muscovite.  There is another smaler fluorite on the reverse; neither has any damage.  In addition to the fluorites, there are several quartz crystals near the base (one double terminated), and a .7 cm sphalerite on the display side of the specimen.

GFL1 Fluorite

Xianghualing, Linwu, Hunan Province, China

6.3x 4.5x 2.7 cm

$85

A very nice specimen from Xianghualing, with two clear, icy green fluorite cubes aesthetically perched on the edge of the matrix.

TSM1 Mimetite

Tsumeb Mine, Otjikoto Region, Namibia
3.5x 2.8x 2.1 cm

$48

A choice mimetite thumbnail (or rather, toenail) from Tsumeb.  There are crystals on both sides of the specimen, with a nice bowtie cluster aesthetically perched on the top to the specimen--the pictures say it all.

Rowley Mine, Maricopa Co., Arizona.

4.0x 2.3x 1.6 cm

$138

New Find

WOW!  When was the last time you saw an Arizona diaboleite this good?  This specimen, and the following one, are from a new find made within the past couple months at the Rowley Mine, the mine famous for producing the bright orange, windowpane wulfenites.  An extremely rich specimen, that appears to be 60% diaboleite.

TMTSB1 Metastibnite

Oruro, OruroDept., Bolivia
3.6 x2.0x 1.2 cm.

Believe it or not, this is some of the word's best metastibnite, and this is probably one of the best thumbnails of the species.  There was a small find in 2002 of this material, with no more found since then.  Usually this mineral just appears as smears on matrix, but these specimens are richly covered with botryoidal metastibnite.

MTSB2 Metastibnite

Oruro, OruroDept., Bolivia
4.0 x3.5x 1.5 cm.

$58

Believe it or not, this is some of the word's best metastibnite, and this is probably one of the best thumbnails of the species.  There was a small find in 2002 of this material, with no more found since then.  Usually this mineral just appears as smears on matrix, but these specimens are richly covered with botryoidal metastibnite.

MAG7 Magnetite

Cerro Huanaquino, Totora Dept., Potosi, Bolivia.

7.9x 4.9x 4.0 cm.

A very choice cabinet magnetite, much more aesthetic than the average piece form the region, with the magentite crystals sharp and distinct, rather than jumbled together.  Also unlike most other pieces, this one has no damage. The crystals reach 1.4 cm on edge.

BGR2 Boulangerite

Huanaco Dept., Peru
12.0 x8.0x 4.5 cm.

A large cabinet specimen of buolangerite, with thousands of boulangerite needles covering the matrix.

DIP6 Dioptase

Altyn Tjube, Karganda Oblast', Kazakhstan (Type Locality)

11.9x 8.9x 4.5 cm

$385

A large cabinet dioptase from the type locality.  There are many crystals scattered individually throughout the matrix, and all show the characteristic deep green color.  A couple crystals have damage, but overall a very aesthetic specimen.  The pictures do not do it justice, you cannot really see the individual crystals, as you would be able to in person.
