Central American minerals are rarely seen, though there are a number of active gold, silver, copper and lead mines in El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala.

This is a large cabinet specimen of andradite form El Mochito, with a stalactitic projection rising slightly from the mass of crystalline andradite.  This is a decent andradite for any locality, but for Honduras this is exceptional.
