Good thorite specimens are
nearly impossible to obtain today, and specimens from Cheddar rank among
the best ever found.
This particular specimen is
a huge crystal of the rare thorium, uranium silicate, showing excellent
faces and well-defined form. I have not seen any comparable specimens for
sale in a long time.
