A very aesthetic aquamarine perched on a cluster of
cleavlandite balls. The crystal shows good transparency for a
matrix specimen--most aquamarines of this size are nearly opaque.
The brown coating on the cleavlandite is mud. I
have cleaned it, and included photographs of the clean specimen
below. The reason I left up the old photos is that they give a
better idea of the actual color of the crystal.
