PBGM1 Plumbogummite
Yangshuo Pb/Zn Mine, Yangshuo, Guangxi Province, China/
6.7x 5.5x 4.3cm
$265
A cabinet specimen of this extremely rare mineral from the
recent find in China. Although some specimens have been brought to
market, the find did not receive much attention, and only relatively small
quantities have been offered at recent shows, or online.
This discovery is the only significant find of the species
since the mid-1800's, when plumbogummite was recovered at Roughton Gill
and the surrounding localities. Even those however, were not as rich as
the Chinese specimens.
This piece has botryoidal plumbogummite completely covering
a quartz matrix, as well as crystals of either pyromorphite or mimetite.
There is a little bruising to the specimen, but this s visible on nearly
all of the pieces recovered so far.
When all is said and done however, it still looks like mold
