Ex. Wheaton College
A cabinet galena crystal from a less well known US locality, the mines in the area closed in the 1970's. The crystal measures 3.2 cm on edge, and only the bottom facing corner has a small cleave.
The majority of contemporary galena specimen from the US originate in the Viburnum trend district, approximately 400 miles south, and older specimens are sometimes seen from Picher, Oklahoma and Kansas.
This specimen was purchased from the Wheaton College.
