SAA13 Henmilite

Fuka Mine, Fuka, Bitchu-Cho, Takahashi, Okayama Prefecture, Japan

6.1x 3.1x 2.1 cm

$365

So I said there would be a few surprises in this update...

It turned out that one of the men responsible for discovering the original find of henmilite a few years ago was making the rounds at Tucson, and as such there were a few pieces floating around.  I got my hands on what I could find, and am offering tem here for sale.

Here is a specimen from the best-of-species find made a few years back by a Japanese mineral club during a collecting trip to the Fuka Mine.  These henmilites were initially snapped up by collectors, and have since become scarce in any quality--meaning that even microcrystalline druses have started to command astronomical prices.  This scarcity has been compounded by the prohibition from collecting at the mine, in response to the wave of collectors who flocked there in search of more henmilite. This is very beautiful material, especially given its rarity, and it is unlikely that more will be found.
