CCL2 Beryl var. Aquamarine, Muscovite

Chumar Bakhoor, Nagar Valley, Northern Areas, Pakistan

5.5x 5.1x 2.9 cm

$168

A beautiful specimen of what is probably among the most iconic of Pakistani mineral associations.  These days most of the aquas on the market are coming from various localities in Skardu, but these will always be classics. For many, hearing the words "Pakistani aquamarine" conjured  images of these aqua/muscovite combinations.

I just got this piece, so I'm posting it cheaply.  The reasonable retail is $300-$400.

CCL4 Fluorite on Galena

Huanzala Mine, Huallanca District, Dos de Mayo Province, Peru

9.1x 4.2x 3.6 cm

$96

A group of pink fluorites on a galena matrix.  I am guessing this is an older piece, because of the galena aassociation and the smooth surfaces (not etched, as wwas the case with the pieces from a few years back.)

There is damage, that is why it is not a $1500 piece, and I think this price more than takes the damage into account..  Still, if you have ever wanted one of these classic associations, but didnt want to fork over hundreds (or thousands) of dollars, here's a very respectable sample.

CCL32 Pentagonite

Wagholi, near Poonah, Maharashtra, India

5.6x 3.5x 3.5 cm

$62

A rich cluster of pentagonite crystals on matrix.  There is damage, but the price takes this into account (complete, it would be about $300)

As an interesting side note, the quarry where cavansite is found is located in a huge complex containing several very large quarries.  Cavansite and pentagonite have only been found in any appreciable quantity in part of one of those quarries, even though all are located within approximately 2 square kilometers of land

Dark sphalerite and bright pyrite sharing a matrix with colorless quartz and some very pale rhodochrosite.  Older material from Huaron-- nothing is coming out these days, due to increased mechanization at the locality.
